What is eczema?

You can help to control the condition yourself by trying to avoid scratching, wearing cotton clothing to keep the skin cool and allow it to breathe, avoiding synthetic fabrics and wool that can irritate.

Using non-biological washing powders and avoiding fabric softeners, can help to reduce itching. If you can, avoid stress and any known triggers. Most important of all is to have an effective skin care routine. Even when eczema is under control you need to use emollients to keep the skin moisturised and avoid dryness.
